Basecoating MDF pieces
-Several thin coats of paint will give a better finish than 1 thick one.

-It IS BETTER NOT TO SAND MDF PIECES BEFORE THE 1ST BASECOAT IF POSSIBLE! The fibres may soak up the basecoat unevenly if you sand first.

- Brush on your first coat of basecoat paint with a lge. taklon brush (thin if necessary) and allow to dry.

-Sand lightly with fine sandpaper '800'. Brush on a 2nd basecoat in the opposite direction to the 1st coat. allow to dry.

-Sand using a very fine grade '1000'. Brush on a thin third coat of basecoat. allow to dry.
